I am a photographer, cinematographer and artist who is known for capturing lifestyle imagery and natural beauty of my subjects.
My interest in photography began at an early age in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Inspired by my father renowned fashion and portrait photographer Otto Stupakoff I started to photograph for editorial magazines as a sports photographer in Rio de Janeiro at the age of 18. In 1981 I moved to NYC. After a period of assisting Bert Stern, Bruce Weber, Dominque Isserman and Frank Horvath, I started to shoot my own fashion editorial, catalogue, and advertising campaigns.
My editorial work has appeared in Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, W, Glamour, Allure, ELLE, Rolling Stone, Seventeen, Cosmopolitan, Grazia, Marie Claire. Catalogue clients included Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales, Lord & Taylor, Eddie Bauer, Talbots, Phillips, Sony and J. Crew. I have photographed national campaigns for GAP, Maybelline, Lee Jeans, and Avon.
I am the recipient of numerous awards for my photography such as an Excellency and Merit Award from The Art Directors Club of America. Conde Nast Creativity Award and The Silver Award Warner Bros.
My passion for race car driving has led me to publish my book "The Colorful Side of Racing". I am currently working on a book called "The Surfer".
I spend my time between NYC and Costa Rica with my wife Loraine and my dog Fred.
